Overseer Shannon DeWitt believes that life really began for her the day she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior! It was during these years she became a member of the St. Paul Unified Freewill Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey where she grew, studied and learned under her pastor, Bishop Hilton Rawls, Sr.
During her many years there she could never be accused of idle hands, for whatever work needed to be done, she rolled up her sleeves and eagerly, actively participated in many roles. She was the founder of the Righteous Repertoire, the church drama/mime ministry. She was one of the members and choreographers of Judah, the praise dance ministry. She also was an active member of the Sunday school program and was entrusted to teach the New Life Enrichment class, which was targeted at reaching and educating new believers in the body of Christ. It was during this time God placed a special burden on her heart to reach women who like herself may have had a rough journey on the road to meet Jesus. It was with this in mind that Daughters of Eve was born. The ministry’s primary goal was to give women a safe place to tell of the ills that may have transpired in their lives and to receive understanding, guidance, healing and deliverance without fear of their past being held against them. Monthly meetings where held and women from all walks of life and different churches were welcomed to come in and S.H.A.R.E (support, help, affirm, respect and encourage) Every month testimonies where shared and tears were shed, and true healing and deliverance took place. After these years of dedicated service in the church and with Daughters of Eve, she accepted the call to preach the gospel. On April 11, 2004 she preached her initial sermon entitled, “It’s your future… be there for it.”
Our Senior Pastor Overseer Shannon D. DeWitt

Overseer Shannon and Elect Gentleman Sir Deacon Carlas DeWitt
In 2005, the family relocated to Charlotte, NC. It was here that God called her into the Pastorate and Greater Purpose Life Center was established under the direction of Bishop T.L. DeWitt, Beginning Anew Life Changing Outreach Fellowship of Churches.
As dedicated as she is to a life of service for the Lord, Pastor DeWitt believes her first call is to her family. She is happily married 20 years to the person she declares is heaven sent and anointed just for her, Deacon Carlas DeWitt. They reside together in Charlotte, North Carolina with their three daughters, Tristen, Taylor and Shayne. Along with Taylor's husband, who they affectionately call their Son-in-love... Reginald Bailey (Married to Taylor). They also recently welcomed their first grandson Ethan Chase!
Humbled and in awe of the love of God and the great many blessings He has given to her and her family, Pastor DeWitt lives by these words…
All I was-mercy…. All I am-grace…. All I will be-GOD
